We’re celebrating candidates from our Trinity Champion Centres who have used the experience gained in their drama and music exams to succeed outside of the exam room. From appearances in professional productions, to performing in festivals, and even the lead character in an International Education App. Read on to be inspired by how far your Trinity exam can take you.

Poppy Livingstone ‘Poppy is 10, she has attained Distinction in her Grade 3 and 4 Musical Theatre solo exams.

In 2022, Poppy was cast as young Eponine in the professional tour of Les Misérables and is currently featuring in the Tesco Christmas advert.

Poppy used pieces and skills she'd worked on for her Trinity Musical Theatre exams for her auditions.’

(Nominated by Cornwall Theatre School)

Ellie Reynolds ‘Ellie has taken the following exams: Grade 7 Musical Theatre (Distinction), Grade 7 Acting (Distinction), Grade 6 Speech & Drama (Distinction), and Rock & Pop Grade 8 Vocals (Distinction with 90 marks!).

Ellie then used the songs she prepared for her Rock & Pop exam to compete in Buskfest ‘22 in Northern Ireland, where she won the Junior Division Title.

Since then, she has been invited to several council events and has performed for Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall at a private event in Armagh.’

(Nominated by Shelley Lowry Performing Arts)

Freya ‘Freya, 9, takes Trinity exams in Musical Theatre, Acting, Communication Skills, Speech & Drama, and, her favourite, Performance Arts! She works hard and has achieved Distinction in all her exams.

Trinity exams have allowed Freya freedom to choose pieces, build creativity and take ownership of her work. At age 6, Freya auditioned for an International Education App, and she gained the lead character role of Jojo, a part she has now played for 3 years. This professional work has required weekly filming on location and green screen, audio recording of stories, and marketing work.

The teachers at Busybodies Stage School are proud of Freya’s journey and her love of the arts, especially drama, which shines through in her Trinity lessons. She is looking forward to working through all the grades and hopes one day to take her Trinity College London Diploma so she can teach drama.’

(Nominated by Busybodies Stage School)

Abi Broadbent ‘Abi has studied and performed since the age of two years, began undertaking Trinity exams at the age of five and achieved all her grades by the age of thirteen in both Speech & Drama and Musical Theatre (Grade 8, Distinction). She recently achieved a high distinction in her Trinity ATCL Performing (Musical Theatre).

She has given outstanding performances too numerous to mention in shows and pantomimes throughout the years.'

(Nominated by Big Red Curtain Ltd)

Ava Honey ‘In 2017, Ava received a distinction in her Grade 7 Musical Theatre Pairs exam. As a result of participating in Trinity Musical Theatre and Acting exams with the Guildford Theatre School, Ava felt able to audition for professional training at drama school, receiving a place on the Foundation Musical Theatre course at Guildford School of Acting. She is hoping to attend a three-year programme from September, with the Trinity exams giving her experience to remain calm and confident in an audition situation.’

(Nominated by Guildford Theatre School)

We’re delighted to share these achievements from young people at our Trinity Champion Centres, and hope you’ve been inspired by some of the work they’ve been doing both inside and outside of the organisations supporting them.
