We are delighted to announce that Sounds of Intent's National Centre for assessing Trinity's Awards & Certificates in Musical Development has now launched. The centre gives peripatetic music teachers, parents, carers, music therapists, and many more the option to enter learners for the qualifications without needing to be associated with a validated Awards & Certificates in Musical Development centre. Read on to find out just how entering learners via the Sounds of Intent National Centre will work.
Who is the Sounds of Intent National Centre for?
If you have learners that you would like to enter for Trinity's Awards & Certificates in Musical Development, but are not associated with one of our validated centres, the Sounds of Intent National Centre is the ideal option for you. Whether you are working with groups or supporting an individual to evidence their musical progression, you can enter learners through the National Centre, who will verify your assessment before liaising with Trinity about moderation and certification on your behalf.
Are there any prerequisites for entering learners via the Sounds of Intent National Centre?
Those entering learners for an Awards & Certificates in Musical Development qualification can be from any background. However, in order to ensure that the evidence submitted is in line with the qualifications framework, you will be required to have taken the Sounds of Intent online training course before submitting learners.
How do I enter learners through the Sounds of Intent National Centre?
Having completed your training, it's time to start collecting your video recordings and written notes of each potential candidate's level of musical engagement. Once you have all of your evidence compiled, complete the paperwork, downloadable from the Sounds of Intent website, and email to director@soundsofintent.com.
What happens after I have made my submission?
The Sounds of Intent team will review the evidence submitted firstly to make sure they agree with the assessment that has been made. If they have any queries about this, they will contact you to discuss further. They will then liaise with Trinity, submitting the evidence for moderation, if required, before certification.
How much does it cost?
Fees for entering learners through the Sounds of Intent National Centre range from £15-£35 per learner, depending on the level of award you are entering them for.
Where can I go for more information and support?
More information and support understanding the Sounds of Intent learning and progression framework is available at www.soundsofintent.app. Queries regarding entering learners through the Sounds of Intent National Centre can be sent to director@soundsofintent.com.
