Are you busy planning your drama exams for 2024? Maybe you have some questions about how to approach the exams, or are looking for some ideas for suitable texts. Or perhaps you are interested in offering a new drama qualification, or just want some new ideas for drama games. Whatever is on your mind, our Top Ten resources will help you to plan for the year ahead.

  1. If you are stuck for some new drama games and exercises to use in your lessons why not take a look at our Drama Games resources? You will find ideas and activities for warm ups, games that focus on building devising and improvisation skills, team building activities, exercises that helps candidates develop an understanding of texts, as well as resources you could access for text suggestions.

  2. Speaking of text suggestions, don’t forget about our free Online Anthology, where you will find a selection of diverse, international material suitable for use in Trinity Drama examinations.

  3. If you already have some ideas for text you would like to use but aren’t sure if they would be suitable, or how to put different texts together to make a programme, then our programme examples can help with this. The programme examples contain at least three example pieces for each grade, with descriptions of which skills each suggestion will show the examiner, and tips on how to approach the selected material with candidates. Programme examples are available for Acting, Musical Theatre, and Speech & Drama.

  4. Perhaps you are thinking about delivering graded exams for groups of students or options to assess the full cast and crew of school productions, if so our Trinity Insights Pack Group Drama exams will give you all of the guidance you need. This comprehensive pack includes:
  • Resources offering sample programmes of repertoire suitable for Group Acting exams at Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced Grades
  • Examples of how the selections can be adapted for Group Performance Arts and Group Musical Theatre exams.
  • A quick-fire checklist which will assist you with planning and reduce last-minute stress, giving a clear outline of the prerequisites and considerations of both exam types.
  • There is also a short guide giving drama teachers the tools to speak to parents and school senior leaders about the benefits of Trinity drama and how graded assessments can benefit students and also the school.
  1. If you are still familiarising yourself with our new 2023 specifications, then why not watch back our series of webinars exploring each specification? In these webinars we look at what is expected of the candidate, what the examiner will be looking for, and what you can do to prepare your students.

  2. As well as our webinars, you can also look at our resources page for each drama syllabus, where you will find lots of guidance on approaching tasks, example videos for different grades, and resources exploring wider themes such as retention and working professionally in the performing arts industry.

  3. And if you are thinking about delivering our brand new Acting for Screen qualification there are some really helpful video guides explaining how to set up and frame each task.

  4. Are you planning a school production this year? Our free downloadable ‘six-month countdown to your next school production’ checklist will help you to stay on top of everything from identifying your show, casting, organising rehearsals, through to opening night.

  5. Maybe you are a little unclear about what an exam day actually involves or what you need to do to get ready? If so our blogs on preparing your students for their exam day and getting ready to host your drama exam will take you through everything you need to do in order to have a successful exam day.

  6. Nobody wants their exam, or their candidate’s exam, referred and our referral checklists can help with this. Whether you are planning face-to-face or digital exams, our Exam Preparation Checklists contain helpful reminders for every stage of the exam process, helping you to avoid a drama exam referral.

We hope you find these resources helpful, and you have a successful year of drama delivery!
